Meet Coach Laura
-
For over 30 years, I’ve coached, raced, and lived the runner’s journey. I started running at age 13 with high school cross country, continued in college, and completed 15+ marathons across my 20s, 30s, and 40s—all while working full-time as an executive in the financial services industry, raising two children, navigating through life's messy middle, and coaching youth sports. At 52, I laced up for my first ultra—and every mile since has affirmed what I now know deep in my bones: age is no barrier to running, growth, or achieving any dream you set your mind to.
-
For me, running has always been more than a sport. It’s a mirror, a teacher, and a lifelong companion. It’s taught me how to embrace discomfort, stay grounded through highs and lows, and build resilience that lasts far beyond the finish line. I run to prioritize health span over lifespan, to choose grit over ease, and to keep growing—especially as I get older. Pushing boundaries isn’t just about speed or distance. It’s about living with intention, strength, and a spirit that stays curious and courageous no matter the mile.
-
I created Own Your Endurance to bring together two things that have shaped my life: a deep belief in the power of long-distance running to fuel lifelong vitality, and a gift for helping others unlock their full potential. For me, it’s never just about the miles—it’s about guiding people to tap into their unique strengths and experiences so they can thrive at every stage of life. Years of ultrarunning have taught me that endurance isn’t just physical. It’s emotional, mental, and deeply personal. That understanding is at the heart of how I coach—with purpose, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to helping athletes rise to their moment, no matter the terrain. I work especially with runners over 45 who want to train with purpose, stay consistent, and keep growing—physically, mentally, and emotionally. Coaching is where I do my best work: guiding self-motivated athletes to turn intention into action. Through science-backed strategies, real-world experience, and a commitment to consistency, I help you build sustainable habits, stay accountable, and train with clarity—so you can own your endurance for years to come.

The Truth About Training Advice Online
You can find endless free training plans on social media. That’s the easy part.
But when runners get sick, miss a workout, feel an injury coming on, or wonder what to eat before a race—they turn to the internet. And what do they find? A flood of conflicting advice from strangers who aren’t certified, aren’t coaching, and don’t know a thing about YOUR body, history, mindset, or goals.
It’s no wonder so many runners feel stuck, confused, and unsupported.
-
Most runners crave structure, discipline, and a proven approach that’s tailored to them. That’s where coaching comes in—and where I come in.
When I stepped into ultramarathoning, I hired a coach because I didn’t know when to quit. I pushed too hard, did too much, and needed someone with experience to guide me through recovery, adaptation, and performance at longer distances.
Now, I offer that same transformative support to the athletes I coach.
-
Working with me isn’t just about workouts—it’s about cultivating sustainable habits through:
Psychological strategies: Building confidence, resilience, and mental toughness
Behavioral routines: Creating structure that fits your life, not fights it
Environmental awareness: Adapting training to your real-world demands
I start by understanding the entire athlete—your goals, your lifestyle, your strengths and struggles. Then we build a flexible, personalized plan that evolves with you.
-
A training plan tailored to your goals, schedule, and mindset
